Canoe paddling
„back to the roots“
Three day/two night outdoor and paddling experience
Join us on a canoe adventure in one of Lapland’s unknown wilderness areas. A great experience close to nature.
Merasjärvi and it’s surroundings is an area that not many tourists have found yet. A wonderful landscape with lakes and swamps surrounded by the forest. All the equipment as food, cookers etc. are transported in our canoes. The distance to canoe is approximately 15 km per day. At the start, a briefing containing detailed information about the tour and basic paddling instructions are provided. Our journey follows the introduction. At the halfway point, we stop for a wilderness picnic lunch. The lake also offers good fishing possibilities, so we maybe have the chance to catch our dinner. Our night camp is located camp near by the lake and equped with a sauna. This is not an extreme canoe tour or an extreme fishing tour but a great and simple wilderness experience close to nature.
By simple we mean: back to the roots and so you can expect to cook on open fire, sleep in a wooden cabin in the middle of the woods, an outdoor toilet, no running water, and no electricity in your cabin. Our wilderness huts are equipped with matrasses.
Your guide will show you how to cook outdoors and what treasures to find in the woods.
We relax in the Sauna in the evening and use the sauna in the traditional way to wash yourself or jump into the refreshing lake.
